I’m a first-generation Mexican-American scholar, writer, musician, and AI systems architect. I’m a PhD candidate in Theological Ethics at Fuller Seminary and the founder of Luminosa AI.

I’m interested in what our beliefs, communities, and technologies make possible—and what they make difficult to see.

What does AI amplify in us?

I’m researching how technology amplifies our capacities for deception and truth-seeking, and reshapes social influence and power. How is that changing with AI?

I’m asking what happens when our tools can speak persuasively, shape what we notice, and act on our behalf. Whose judgment carries further? Whose interests become harder to see?

THE OTHER THREADS

There have always been a few.

My research also attends to trauma, faith, and human flourishing. Before this, I spent more than a decade as a pastor, worship leader, and educator across churches and universities.

I still write poetry and make music. I also spend an unreasonable amount of time asking whether a repetitive task could become a useful little tool.

Research makes me question my assumptions. Building gives me something concrete to test. Writing and music give me another way to pay attention.
